“Engine Tuning” consists of many different processes, done using multiple different specialty devices. These processes dont vary much vehicle-to-vehicle, or engine-to-engine, we are typically just hunting optimal efficiency and drive ability characteristics or a certain set of parts. It’s basically the art of making parts “agree” with eachother. A good tuner can even get them to “compliment” eachother.
However, the devices and equipment vary VASTLY.
These 2 V-Dubs are a perfect example.
One’s air-cooled, with a carburetor, and may have 7 wires associated with the engine. No computers to speak of.
Whereas the other is a NASA Spacecraft in comparison, computers and controllers for the brakes, steering, suspension, along with the engine management system, and data communication between all aforementioned.
Simple answers are always the best.
So to the question, “Can we tune your Volkswagen?”
The answer is “Yes!”
