Overbeck Marine Construction is based in Wilmington, NC. Charles Overbeck started the business in the 1980's and has been serving the Southeast coast ever since. Overbeck Marine is now owned and operated by Daniel Shirley. Daniel has been involved in all aspects of marine construction since 1999; from private docks and piers to large marinas across the Southeast and in San Diego, CA and Hawaii.

Just finished our 1st “living shoreline” project, also the 1st living shoreline permitted in New Hanover county under the new general permit. Thanks to the NC Coastal Federation for helping us with design and implementation.
Process included grading the eroding shoreline to an acceptable slope for planting Spartina alterniflora & Spartina patens, bagging 15 tons of marl (limestone), bagging 5 tons of oysters, installing the sill (limestone), topping with oyster bags, and planting the 2 species of native Spartina.
