You just never know what the phone call will bring. Received a call from G&G Towing yesterday for assistance with a 40' Gooseneck trailer on the Memorial bridge that had the entire gooseneck post ripped loose from the trailer. It was loaded heavy with two pieces of equipment and was caught by the tail gate of the truck pulling it. We responded 2 trucks and 3 personnel due to the location on the bridge and knowing that a slowdown in that area, can tie up traffic all through down town. The guys got it rigged for removal from the bridge and transported back to our yard. After further talks with the owner, describing the extent of the damage and what would be needed to safely move the trailer, they contracted us to complete the delivery of the equipment and tow the trailer back to them in Charlotte. We spent this afternoon, fabricating and welding a mount to the trailer so we could safely tow this unit down the road. This was one of those extra mile calls for our customer and thankfully we have the resources to make things like this happen. Thursday we were called in to recover a skid steer with a mulching head head attachment that had gone head first into a ditch about 6 feet deep. The machine was at the very back corner of a 6 acre property and approximately 400 yards from safe access. There was no getting a truck in to it but thay didn't stop us. A few phone calls from our resource partners, a little bit of math, and a little bit of rigging, the skid steer was recovered with no damage and brought to the road for the rental company to pick up.
