A lot of drivers assume, “I barely drove this year, so I don’t need an oil change yet.”

But engine oil doesn’t only wear out from mileage. Time, moisture, short trips, heat cycles, fuel contamination, and normal engine operation all contribute to oil breaking down.

That’s why we generally recommend getting your oil changed at least twice a year, even if you haven’t hit a high mileage interval.

Fresh oil helps:
🔧 Keep internal engine components clean
🔧 Maintain proper lubrication
🔧 Reduce sludge and deposits
🔧 Protect timing components and other oil-dependent systems
🔧 Give us a chance to catch leaks, low fluids, tire wear, and other issues early

Those extended 7,500–10,000+ mile intervals might look good on paper, but if you plan on keeping your vehicle for the long haul, a little preventative maintenance goes a long way.

Mobile repair from this week 🔧

This Tahoe left its owner stranded with a no-start while they were in town on vacation. We headed out, diagnosed it on-site, and found the starter had failed.

New starter installed right there in the parking lot and they were back on the road. 👍

Not a bad view for the “shop” today.
