Before updating your production line, it helps to map how products will move through the new layout and where conveyors will connect with the rest of the equipment. A new machine, a different product size, or a shift in workflow can bring new requirements for transfers, accumulation, and access.

Sharing your product dimensions, load weights, available space, and connection points gives our team a clearer starting point for discussing conveyor options for your application.

If you’re planning a pallet handling project, Power Pack Conveyor’s Standard CDLR Pallet Conveyor offers a pre-engineered option for moving palletized loads, with configurations you can review against your application requirements. Available options include 5- and 10-foot lengths, 44- or 52-inch effective widths, and conveyor speeds of 30 or 45 feet per minute.

Share your pallet dimensions, load weight, and layout with our team, and we’ll help you review the available configurations, pricing, and current lead time for your project.

When we review a conveyor application, we look closely at the surface that will contact the conveyor, because the underside of a box, tote, pallet, or flexible package influences how that load is supported as it moves through the system.

A corrugated box brings questions about base rigidity and condition, while a molded tote may have ribs or recessed areas that change where it contacts the conveying surface. For a loaded pallet, the bottom-board arrangement and weight distribution become part of the discussion, and flexible packaging requires attention to how its shape changes during movement and transfers.

These details help inform conveyor selection, including the suitability of belt conveyors and roller conveyors, roller spacing, and transfer arrangements. Reviewing representative product samples alongside dimensions, weight, travel orientation, and throughput requirements gives the engineering team a clearer understanding of the application.

At Power Pack Conveyor Company, we work with system integrators, OEMs, and industrial teams to develop conveyor systems around the products being handled and the operating requirements of the facility. If you are evaluating an upcoming material handling application, we would be glad to discuss your product specifications and conveyor requirements.

As we celebrate Manufacturing Day, we’re recognizing the people whose technical knowledge, practical experience, and attention to detail contribute to the conveyor systems used across manufacturing and material handling operations.

Developing a conveyor involves understanding the application, translating operating requirements into a design, and carrying that design through fabrication and assembly. Throughout that process, people make decisions about materials, dimensions, fit, and access that influence how the equipment will function within the customer’s operation.

At Power Pack Conveyor Company, our work draws on these skills to develop conveyor solutions for specific products, processes, and facility requirements. We appreciate the experience our people bring to that work and the care they put into each stage of the manufacturing process.

Manufacturing Day also gives us an opportunity to share the range of careers involved in this industry, where engineering and hands-on manufacturing skills come together to support the systems that keep production moving.

When a team begins planning a conveyor application, the conversation naturally extends beyond the equipment itself, because the conveyor has to support the way product moves through the operation and function properly within the surrounding automation.

Power Pack Conveyor works closely with system integrators, OEMs, and industrial teams to understand how each application is expected to perform in production. That understanding guides the development of a conveyor solution that fits the operating environment and supports the larger system it will become part of.

If you are working through an upcoming conveyor application, our team would be glad to discuss what you are building and how we can support it.

Investment in material-handling automation continues to grow as organizations pursue greater capacity, more scalable operations, and stronger coordination across increasingly connected production and fulfillment environments.

Power Pack Conveyor developed its 2026 Material Handling Industry Report to examine the forces shaping these decisions and the planning considerations that influence how automation performs once it reaches the facility floor. Drawing on current findings from MHI, the U.S. Census Bureau, the Association for Advancing Automation, BLS, and OSHA, the report explores technology investment, robotics adoption, workforce pressures, safety, and the role of conveyor systems in creating dependable material flow.

The report also provides a practical framework for evaluating loads, throughput requirements, accumulation, facility constraints, automation interfaces, controls, maintenance access, and future expansion during the early stages of system design.

As manufacturing and automation continue to evolve, some of the most useful conversations are happening at the point where broader industry signals meet the realities of the production floor.

For the first edition of At the Transfer Point, we looked at four developments that caught our attention this month: the broader mix of industries investing in robotics, continued strength in manufacturing activity and equipment orders, the lifecycle approach behind the latest mobile robot safety standard, and the potential role of event-based sensing in fast-moving environments.

What interested us most was not any one data point on its own, but what these developments suggest about the systems being built around them. As automation expands into more production environments, questions around material flow, integration, safety, sensing, and how equipment connects become increasingly important parts of the overall system conversation.

At the Transfer Point is a new monthly brief from Power Pack Conveyor where we will share the market signals, technologies, and industry developments we are following across manufacturing and automation.

Read the September edition, and if one of these topics is already showing up in the projects you are working on, we would be interested to hear how you are seeing it play out.

Conveyors can look straightforward at first, although choosing the right type depends on what needs to move, how it needs to travel through the facility, and where it must connect with the rest of the system.

This graphic shows a few of the conveyor configurations available at Power Pack Conveyor. Each can be engineered to meet the application's load, layout, throughput, and operating conditions.
