In preparation for the upcoming tropical storm/hurricane, we ask that you please secure your patio furniture, canopies, and retract awnings, etc. Although we aren't sure just yet how intense the weather will get, we would like to take necessary precautions ahead of time.

Cancer claimed the life of another great one yesterday. Longtime tenant Ronnie Wimberly passed away after battling cancer over the last few years. Ronnie was 1/2 of the famed "Ronnie's Corner" together with Ronny Smith until they both left the park a few years ago. Ronnie first moved to the park around 2005. During the entirety of his stay here, he was always a part of hosting (together with Stephen Frost and later with the other Ronnie) either a fish fry, a BBQ, or crawfish boil for the rest of the tenants always sharing his cooking with our employees. He was always helping somebody, whether it was a fellow tenant, our employees or his many friends. He will always remain in our memories as the friendliest, helpfullest and one of the most respected tenants we have ever had at our RV Park. God Bless is him, his family and all of his grieving friends.

Boat owners: Please keep a close eye on the forecast for below freezing temperatures predicted in the next few days. Check with your local boat dealership/mechanic regarding their recommendations of needing your boat serviced/winterized. Please DO NOT wait until the last minute to contact them during a freeze because they will likely be booked. Below is a list of local mechanics that come to our marinas to service boats regularly.

POWER RESTORATION UPDATE FROM STATE REPRESENTATIVE WILL METCALF

2/17/21 9 AM Entergy Update

At this time, MISO has not ordered any additional load shed, and both Montgomery County generating units remain stable and providing sufficient generation to meet the load demand. Any remaining outages are due to to equipment damage in the field from ice and the freeze, and should be resolved by 4 PM or sooner today if no other equipment failures take place. We are not totally out of the woods with the incoming freezing weather, but Entergy has taken additional steps since the freeze on Monday to winterize facilities and protect assets that caused the severe issues earlier this week. I will keep you updated as we monitor this incoming storm.

Let’s remember to thank our utility crews who have been out in the field these last few days working to restore power to our homes. Many of them have been away from their own families who are also cold and without power. I am grateful for their service during these unusual times.
