Ever wonder what happens to a car before the ceramic coating goes on?

Here's our prep before CARPRO Finest Reserve:
• Full wash + iron decon
• Clay bar
• Paint correction
• Panel wipe

Then the coating goes on. On this Tesla the wheels came off and got coated too, and all of the glass is getting coated as well.

What's the first thing that happens to brand new paint in Florida?

Most people think it's scratches. It usually isn't. It's the sun, the love bugs and the sprinklers, and they start on day one.

This new Model Y came through the shop for ceramic coating before any of that had a chance to set in. Here's what that actually does for the owner:

☀️ UV protection, so the clear coat isn't baking unprotected through the next few Florida summers
🐞 Bug guts and bird droppings sit on top of the coating instead of etching into the paint
💧 Water beads up and rolls off, so sprinkler spots don't bake in
🧽 Washing gets a lot easier because dirt doesn't grab onto a coated surface the same way
✨ That deep, wet gloss stays instead of fading flat

One honest note: ceramic won't stop rock chips. That's what paint protection film is for. Coating is about keeping the paint clean, glossy and protected from what Florida throws at it every day.

Eight cars in today across both shops and every one of them is in for something different.

In this building: a BMW getting ceramic tint all the way around with a clear film on the windshield, a Toyota Camry in for the same treatment front to back, a Cadillac XT5 prepped and ready for paint protection film, and two Model Ys mid PPF. One is waiting on its hood, the other just needs the clear windshield finished. Three more ceramic coatings are going in the other shop while all of that runs.

That's what two buildings gets you. Ceramic tint, PPF and coatings all moving at the same time instead of your car sitting in a queue.

Four Teslas in the building today. One is in for a ceramic coating all the way around. Over in the second shop a Quicksilver Model Y is getting window tint all the way around, a white Model Y is in for front end paint protection film with the flares off and every edge tucked, and a third Model Y is in for tint with PPF already wrapped on the front cap. We also have a Porsche that caught pool construction overspray, sat through the rain and hardened into the paint, so that one is getting polished all the way back. Before you pay anyone for paint protection film, ask them one thing: can I see the edges up close?

We're the only shop that films every edge and corner and shows you. On this BMW X1 the emblem came off so the film runs underneath it, the mirrors are one piece cut to the edge, the fenders are wrapped and tucked, and the hood is fully wrapped. Tint all around and a full ceramic coating finished it off.

Edges are where film lifts, collects dirt, or peels in the Florida heat. If a shop won't show you theirs, what does that tell you?
