While loading up a customer’s motorcycle for transport, we couldn’t help but notice something incredibly rare sitting in the back of the delivery van, a military-issued Kawasaki KLR 650 Diesel.

Most riders know the legendary KLR 650 as one of the most dependable adventure bikes ever built, but very few have ever seen its diesel-powered military counterpart in person. Built for military use under the designation M1030M1, these machines were designed to run on diesel fuel, JP-8 jet fuel, and other battlefield fuels, allowing military units to operate with a single fuel source in remote environments.

What makes it so special?
