Before I get into a longer update, I wanted to let everyone know that Points will be calculated and posted to the website after the 4th of July holiday. The explanation below pretty much sums up the delay... the short version is, you all put us to work the past two weeks!
What a crazy couple of weeks it's been! Now that the dust has settled from the events you racers brought to Kansas International Dragway, we wanted to give everyone an update.
Points Race #1 was nothing short of incredible. Nearly 200 bracket and index racers came ready to compete, and what a showing it was! It was great seeing everyone come together, race hard, and enjoy the weekend. We did experience a left lane sensor issue that took some time to correct. As many of you saw firsthand, on a points race accuracy is everything. If it's not right, it's not worth racing. Once we got it dialed in, it performed exactly as it should. We appreciate everyone's patience while we made sure every racer received a fair and accurate race.
Points Race #2 – NHRA.TV Challenge for the Diamond Wally brought another huge turnout. Aside from the tractor unexpectedly deciding it no longer wanted to keep its hydraulic fluid and a switch malfunction that affected a few passes, it turned into another outstanding day of racing. Once again, bracket racers showed up in force to battle for that awesome Diamond Wally. It was another busy, action-packed weekend, and we couldn't have asked for a better group of racers. Congratulations to all of our winners!
As we move forward, here's what you can expect from us.
Every time you come to Kansas International Dragway, you'll notice improvements to both the facility and our operations. We're constantly evaluating what worked, what didn't, and what we can improve before the next event. Whether it's equipment, procedures, communication, or the racer experience, we're committed to making each race smoother than the last.
Just as importantly, we care about the spectator experience too. We want every person who walks through our gates—whether they're racing, crew members, sponsors, or fans in the grandstands—to have a great time and leave excited to come back. From cleaner facilities and smoother operations to better communication and a fun atmosphere, we're working to make Kansas International Dragway a place everyone can enjoy.
We're not chasing perfection because we know that's impossible—but we are committed to improving every single week. Thank you for your patience, your support, and for making these first two points races such a success.
We'll see everyone back at the track after the 4th of July!
