Well I've got the garage somewhat rearranged, although it's a tight fit. While I was moving things around, I realized I never took pictures and told you all about my latest project! I was able to trade one 'project' for something that I can build from the ground up.

Many things have run through my mind for this one. Should I film everything and post it like a build series? Should I post about the potential mods and upgrades, letting my participants vote to choose what happens? Should I get another one (or two) and do a couple different builds?

Regardless, the majority of parts and upgrades are affordable, but it will be a slow process as I still have other projects to fund.

Most importantly, every good project/bike needs a name. Let me know what we should call this one! 2022 Honda grom with just over 1k miles.

Found out what was causing the tire to lose air pressure. Loose valve core. Cleaned up the area, tightened the core, sprayed again. No visible leaks. Letting it sit for a while to see if it still loses air pressure. If not, it'll get put back on the bike. In the mean time, I'm doing a little cleaning and reorganizing. Contemplating putting the lift on the other side of the garage.

Last weekend I rebuilt my pressure washer. No idea if it works now or not because it's too cold to hook up the hose, but knowing my skills it'll be like new. Unfortunately while doing so I tweaked some muscles in my lower back. I just got back to the garage from the chiropractor and I feel so much better.

Last night while it was still somewhat warm out, I put another bike on the lift and pulled the rear wheel off. It keeps going flat so today we're going to inflate it and monitor for leaks. If we can get that issue fixed, it just needs a battery and it'll be good to go. Next time its warm outside, the garage will be getting some minor rearranging.

It's too dark now, but there has been some progress made on the garage. While I was waiting to start my new job, the weather was too cold to work out there for a decent amount of time, so I focused more on indoor projects. However, since the last few days have been nice, I've been doing small amounts of work after I get home, so here's an update:

One bike gone to a new home = space acquired.
Parts bike stripped down, saved parts set aside in tight spaces = loss of unused space, not a real loss. Frame will be cut down and disposed of properly.
Another garage occupant moved onto the lift for future diagnosis and repairs.

There is now a fairly clear and defined path to exit the garage from the front of the garage. With any luck, the weather will hold up and I can move the beer fridge outside for a good and thorough cleaning before restocking.

If you want to be involved in the next project, I found the perfect bike. Just need to find the funds, the space, and someone it can go to. I've worked on many of these, and they're quick and easy to get going. Who wants to help?

And delivered to the new owner! He couldn't believe it was his, even sitting on it after the previous owner, his wife, and myself told him. At some point I'll come back and help him perform some regular maintenance and address minor issues, but until then it's gonna be cared for and washed where it sits.

Got her up and running! Could still use a little adjusting and care, but that will come with time.

Put the carb back on the bike today and the battery was dead. So dead it wouldn't take a jump start. Run and get a new battery, get it installed, add gas, and the new battery is low on charge. Got it on a charger now so we'll see how it goes!

If you're not bleeding, you're not working hard.

I have a friend that's been wanting to get a motorcycle for years. Similarly to me, every time he gets close to accomplishing this, life gets in the way and he is set back again. Finally I said enough is enough, and I took it upon myself to get this man a bike. I reached out to his wife for approval, and then started working my network of people to see what we could come up with collectively that would be a reliable bike to learn on, but not something he would outgrow quickly. We were able to come up with a 1995 Virago 535 for a damn good deal. It needed some love, but nothing I can't handle. The first pictures will be the bike the last time it was running. I met up with the owner and he let me borrow some tools to get the carb off the bike last weekend. I bought the bike and he allowed me to keep it in his garage since it wasnt running. Unfortunately, it was still extremely cold outside so I just took the carb home instead of working in the snow. Tonight I tore the carb down, cleaned up absolutely everything on it, and put it back together. Tomorrow I should be able to meet back up with the previous owner to get the carb put back on. Once we get some fresh gas in it we will have to jump start it, but it should be good to go and get delivered to my friend. Enjoy the pictures, and I'll keep you all updated with any progress or setbacks.

I know it has been a long time since I've posted on this page, and to be honest with y'all I thought about letting the page die. I've had a lot of life changes in the past few years and haven't been able to get the time to work on the projects I want to get done. The past year has been spent working on forklifts, and I've accumulated a lot of tools from that job. It would be a shame to let all those tools go to waste, so today after I got home and had dinner, I got back out to my garage and got to work. I won't scare you with pictures of my garage in it's current state, but over the next few months I'm going to try and get the garage cleaned up, tools organized, and possibly even rearranged (again). I do have a project that should be getting finished up tomorrow or Sunday, but I'll make a separate post for that.
