Our oil of choice here at AMR Diesel Performance & Repair is Schaeffer's Oil, and heres a few reasons why.
✅ Moly-Based Additives – Reduces friction and wear, extending engine and component life.
✅ Superior Shear Stability – Maintains viscosity longer than competitors, reducing breakdown under extreme conditions.
✅ Fuel Economy Boost – Helps improve MPG by reducing drag and enhancing combustion efficiency.
✅ Extended Drain Intervals – Longer-lasting oil means fewer oil changes, saving money and downtime.
✅ Proven Performance – Used in heavy-duty diesel, industrial, racing, and fleet applications.
✅ American-Made Since 1839 – One of the oldest and most trusted lubricant manufacturers.
Fun Fact : Schaeffer’s Oil originally used animal fats and vegetable oils in their lubricants before petroleum-based oils became common. In the 1800s, many lubricants were made from tallow (rendered animal fat) because it provided good lubrication for wagon wheels, steam engines, and early machinery. As petroleum refining advanced, they transitioned to mineral and synthetic-based oils while still incorporating molybdenum and other friction-reducing additives for high performance.
It’s pretty interesting how they evolved from early lubricants to today’s advanced diesel engine oils. What oil brand do you guys prefer?
