🏆 EDDY'S VOLKSWAGEN OF WICHITA CHOICE AWARD — "BLUE MAX"

When the crew from Eddy's Volkswagen of Wichita walked the field and picked their favorite car of the entire show, they stopped at a Zenith Blue 1967 Beetle named Blue Max.

Bought brand new in 1967. Driven faithfully as a daily commuter by its first owners — that's how it earned the name.

Todd & Andrew Bayless became only the second owners in 2019, and this father-and-son team took on a full restoration. They spent a year hunting down one-year-only, era-correct '67 parts. They bought an entire donor car just to get the bodywork right. Finished in 2023.

Today Blue Max sits at roughly 99% stock — 1500 engine, 12-volt electrical — just about the way it rolled off the line in 1967.

For that, Todd and Andrew are taking home a 75" TV and a custom license plate, courtesy of Eddy's Volkswagen of Wichita.

The Legacy Award winner from this years Great Plains VW Show !

We had an absolute blast attending and sponsoring such an AMAZING event! The cars are only a part of the event, it’s the people that truly make it so special.

What a day at the Great Plains VW Show 🤙

The turnout was even better than we expected, with an awesome lineup of Volkswagens and an incredible group of people who came out to celebrate the VW community. It got HOT out there, so we called it a little earlier than planned, but that didn’t take away from what was a FANTASTIC event!

A huge shoutout to everyone who put this show together and everyone who brought their VW out. Events like this are what make the Volkswagen community so special, and we’re proud to support it!
