Today is Friday doing what I love — buying cars!! 🚗

This video is me going down the back half of the test track @ ICE. This is by far the longest and best test track I’ve driven.

I’m test driving a 2015 GMC Terrain that I’m hoping to buy this morning. No check engine codes, runs great — hoping to seal the deal!!

One thing people always ask me is how I get the cars I buy on Friday back to the lot.

Usually every Saturday morning the vehicles I purchased are already delivered before we even open. So how does that happen?

I have them shipped by the best shipper in the Midwest — Critchett & Sons Shipping.

Lamont Critchett has been the only shipper bringing our vehicles back from the Indianapolis Car Exchange for years. We actually had a relationship before that because many times he brought vehicles back for me that I bought online through different shipping networks.

Over the past few years I’ve gotten to personally know Lamont, and I have to say he’s a great guy and really knows the car business… sometimes better than I do!

It’s Auction Day!!

The auction always begins the same way — everyone removes their hats as God Bless America plays. It’s a moment that never gets old.

With it being tax return season, there are a lot more buyers here today. That usually means bigger crowds and higher prices, so we’ll have to work a little harder to find the right deals.

Time to get to work and see what we can bring back to the lot today!

I’m here at ICE and will be spending about 4 hours today walking the lot and building my list for tomorrow’s auction.

Most of the time I stay overnight in Northwest Indy so I can be fresh and ready to go first thing in the morning. A lot of time and effort goes into picking the right vehicles — condition, value, and making sure they meet our standards before they ever hit our lot.

Tomorrow I’ll check back in and, if all goes well, I’m hoping to go live and show you the auction in progress. Stay tuned!

Today’s the day.

I am leaving home, heading toward Whitestown Indiana. I’ll spend the afternoon walking the lot, checking vehicles out one by one, making sure they’re solid and meet the standards we expect before they ever hit our car lot. Condition, history, quality — it all matters.

We don’t just buy cars… we hand-pick them. 👊

Tomorrow I’ll be showing you something a little different — a real part of my weekly work routine.

Almost every Thursday morning I head down to Whitestown, Indiana to my favorite auto auction — ICE (Indianapolis Auto Exchange). I spend the afternoon walking the lanes, driving vehicles, checking them out inside and out, and making notes so I’m ready for Friday morning’s auction.

A lot of people only see the cars once they hit the lot. But this is where it starts — the time, the miles, and the hands-on work that goes into finding solid vehicles for our customers.

Two days ago, I showed you our back garage and the cover. Under that cover was our family heirloom — and that’s what I’d like to show you now.

50 years ago, my Dad bought this car — a 1970 Cadillac Coupe DeVille Convertible, triple black. 🖤

We’ve had it in our family ever since.

When my Dad passed away 20 years ago on Valentine’s Day, I never had the heart to sell it. A couple of years ago I came close… but my sons told me, “Don’t do it.” I’m glad I listened.

This car isn’t just metal and chrome. It’s memories. It’s my Dad. It’s 50 years of family history.

So for now, it’s staying right where it belongs — stored away and part of our story.

Some things are worth more than money. 🖤🚗
