To be an American is to inherit more than a flag—we inherit an idea. An idea born in humble halls where ordinary men dared to believe that liberty belonged not to kings, but to every person.
Our founders were not promised success. They faced uncertainty, sacrifice, and impossible odds, yet they chose courage over comfort and principle over fear. They understood that freedom is never simply given; it is earned, protected, and passed from one generation to the next.
To be an American is not to claim perfection, but to accept the responsibility of striving toward the ideals of liberty, justice, and self-governance. We honor those who came before us by preserving those blessings for those yet to come.
May we always remember that the strength of this nation has never rested in its monuments alone, but in the character of its people and their willingness to stand for freedom.
God bless and Happy 250th America!
