Alright - what is this thing? What you’re looking at here is a shift input clevis. Now if you have a 2006 or newer Subaru, or a 6 speed this post isn’t about you. This is for our 1993-2005 5 speed friends.

Rather than buying a complete assembly, we wanted to create the option for you to replace your original one with a stainless steel component which also features the neutral centering spring, so now you can combine it with a solid shift joint without the hassle of seeking out a clevis that’ll fit. Shiny goodness, tight hotness.

The KARTBOY solid shift joints have been a hit - and those who have installed them so far have shared the same sentiment, which confidence in their gear bangability.

But how does the solid shift joint actually improve bangability?

When one of our engineers (Mark) wanted to take on this project, he did it from a clean sheet design. It features solid stainless machined center cross tubes with press fit bronze bushings, combine that with precision machined stainless crush tubes and you get yourself a bind-free design that still allows you to torque it down properly.

So in short - if your Subarus shifting is feeling sloppy, there’s a good chance it’s time to replace (or upgrade) your shift joint.
