JOSH OF ALL TRADES — The Garage Sale Rule 😂

There is one universal rule when traveling anywhere with Josh:
If there's a garage sale, we're stopping.

Running errands? Definitely Stopping.
🛑
Already running late? Still stopping.
🛑
On the way to a wedding?
"We've got five minutes."
🛑
On the way to a funeral?
"They aren't getting deader, we got time."
🛑
It doesn't matter where we're going or what we're doing.

Because according to Josh:
"They might have something I need."

Here's the really annoying part...
Months—sometimes YEARS—later, something will break.
Josh will disappear into the garage.
"I think I have something that'll work."
Sure, Josh.
There is absolutely NO WAY you happen to own the ridiculously specific thing we need right now.
Five minutes later...
He comes walking back with some random part he bought at a garage sale three years ago.
AND SOMEHOW IT WORKS.
Which is really unfortunate...
Because now we can never tell him he doesn't need to stop at garage sales. 😂.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO KNOW WHAT IT'S CALLED.

Seriously. 😂

If you're working on something in the garage and all you know is:
"This thing came off of this thing... and I need a new one."
Bring it in.
Numbers help. Measurements help. Knowing what it came off of helps.
But sometimes the old part is the best place to start.
We might not always stock the part but we can point you in the right direction if we don't.
You don't have to be a parts expert. That's what we're here for.

Racing? Pull up a chair.

And somehow a simple question about a bearing can turn into a 30-minute conversation about something that happened halfway across the country 20 years ago. 😂

**MEET THE OWNER — JOSH**

We talk a lot about bearings, belts, seals and keeping people moving around here...

But we don't talk nearly enough about the guy behind it all.

So I thought it might be fun to introduce you to the man behind Gene's Bearings and Wausau Bearing.

This is Josh.

Pretty sure it's **Josh of All Trades**, not "Jack." 😂

Owner of two bearing stores.

Harley rider.

Mechanic.

Hair band and rockabilly enthusiast.

Swap meet connoisseur.

Occasional parasol model.
Don't ask. 😂

Walking encyclopedia of completely random information that no normal person should have stored in their brain.

Owner of approximately 57 projects he'd love to work on if he ever actually had time.

And quite possibly the most reliable person you'll ever meet.

If you call Josh because you need help, he'll show up.

If something's broken, he'll probably figure it out.

If you ask him how to fix something, there's a disturbingly good chance he'll know.

And if he thinks you're doing it wrong or messed something up...

He'll tell you!

Probably loudly.

Definitely with swear words. 😂

He's usually working on somebody else's problem, somebody else's project, one of the stores, or one of the approximately 472 things waiting for him at home.

And if you thank him for helping or tell him he did a good job?

Don't expect some heartfelt acceptance of the compliment.

You'll probably just get:

**"I try."**

Over the next few weeks, I thought we'd let you get to know the guy behind the counter a little better.

Because there's a whole lot more to Josh than bearings.

Although...

He does know a ridiculous amount about those too.

Most of the year, Sunday feels a little different.
A slower morning.
Family time.
Church and gatherings.
Maybe a chance to finally sit down.
But during harvest?
Sunday is just another day the sun came up.
The crops are ready. The weather doesn't care what day it is. And when there's a good window to get into the fields, you take it.
Meals get eaten in tractors. Plans get put on hold. Days run into nights, and Monday sometimes doesn't feel much different than Sunday.
Because for harvest weeks, the farm sets the schedule.
To everyone spending their Sundays in the field right now—we see you.

We hear this ALL. THE. TIME. 😂
Someone comes in looking for a bearing, looks around the store and suddenly…
“Wait… you guys have belts too?!”
Yep.
“You have roller chain?”
Yep.
“Wait, you have seals?!”
We sure do.
And it keeps going. 😂
Despite the word BEARING being right there in both of our names, there's a whole lot more sitting on our shelves.
Bearings, belts, pulleys, sprockets, roller chain, seals, O-rings, U-joints, yokes, couplers, snap rings, idler pulleys and plenty more.
