IAG and Team Boogeyman are back at it, laying down another Gridlife Street Mod record lap at Gingerman Raceway in Michigan! Midwest Fest is where Gridlife started and holds a special place in our hearts. We were aiming to be the first Street Modified car to break the 1:30 barrier, but track conditions meant a 1:30.266 was the fastest lap of the weekend.
This puts our team well on the way to securing a third championship in four years. It also means we set a new Gridlife Track Battle record with eight consecutive wins!
The IAG 1150 Destroker, thanks to its broad powerband, really shined on this track. The Garrett G35-1050 loves to rev and is incredibly responsive, especially for its size. The EBC Apollo Race Kit and SR21 pads allowed us to push deep into the braking zones, and when paired with the new Bridgestone RE71RS tires, Dewey actually found himself over-slowing in a few sections. The Fuelab brushless surge tank kept this beast fed all weekend, even under extreme lateral G-forces. The new RCE T2RS coilovers performed exceptionally well, providing much better rotation throughout the course.
Boosted Performance Tuning also provided trackside support, making revisions to the tune on our Emtron KV8. Graham nearly landed on the podium, qualifying second in Street Mod, but unfortunately had to retire due to a mechanical issue. Subimods driver Dai Yoshihara managed to secure second place, meaning four of the top five drivers were in Subarus!
