Your Solo Committee members for 2026 are Chris Gregor – Chariman, Mark Lopotko – Asst Chairman, Chris Dvorak – Board Liaison, Kati Bianchi, Brian McGreevy, Andrew Stein, Tim Raad, Jeff Kumler, and Drew Tonnesen – Registrar. We are excited to continue the amazing momentum from last season with record growth and amazing events. Currently we are finalizing the budget for next season as well as planning our Season Banquet which will be in early March. As soon as we have information about specific date and location information regarding the banquet and the 2026 season event schedule we will share it – keep on eye on your inbox and the socials. Our focus for the coming year is to continue growing the Region with new members and increased involvement at various levels. And that means everyone has a role to play, from the newest additions to our sport all the way to the crustiest of veterans! We are very excited and appreciate the support from the Region Board as we embark on some ambitious planning. In the meantime, have a safe & happy New Year. And don’t forget to register for the Checkered Flag party which is on Saturday February 21st where we celebrate all things Chicago Region and award the Solo Driver of the Year. Thanks for a great 2025 and looking forward to an even greater 2026.

Chicago Region SCCA Solo would like to invite you to our December meeting On Wednesday, December 10th. We will host a general meeting via Zoom at 7 PM CST. The link will be sent ahead of the meeting time. Key topics for the meeting will be to confirm our Solo Committee members for the 2026 season, and to nominate a Chair. We strongly encourage you to join, and if you have interest in helping continue the great Solo program we run, to consider volunteering. We are always looking for new perspectives and experiences from our members. For questions on the kinds of responsibilities the committee members have and the level of commitment, please reach out to any of the current Solo Committee members.

The Chicago Region Board of Directors invites you to join us for our Annual Membership meeting to be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, starting at 7:00 pm at Continental AutoSports Ferrari, 420 E Ogden Ave, Hinsdale, IL 60521.

Per the Region’s Bylaws the agenda for the Annual meeting will be a recap of the year. Following the committee reports the three candidates nominated to serve on the Region’s Board of Directors will be introduced. The Secretary of the Board of Directors shall cast one vote for each candidate to install them on the 2026 Chicago Region Board of Directors. The nominees are Dave Tatge, Rick Bentson, and Anthony Serrecchia. Bios are listed below.

Following the business of the Annual Meeting, the Chicago Region will be recognizing, and honoring our members that attained a first, second or third place podium finish at the National Championship Runoffs; Solo National Championships; or the Time Trials Nationals.

So, come join us at this fantastic location, visit with friends, and find out what’s going on. Talk with our board members, and our competition honorees, get to know them and share a story or two. While you are there take some time to look at the cars, enjoy the surroundings, have a good time.

This event is for all SCCA Chicago Region members from any discipline - road racing, autocross, track day, pinewood derby!

Preliminary season results for the Chicago Region autocross season are posted to the website - https://scca-chicago.com/autocross/. Thanks to our audit team for working through all that data. Once membership status is verified, the results will be official. Congrats to all the class winners! Hope to see you all at the banquet to celebrate this winter.

Autocross events are a form of automotive competition in which one car at a time negotiates a course marked with cones in the shortest possible time.

The Solo Committee would like to thank everyone who participated in the 2025 Autocross season. We began with a test n tune back in April and kept the throttle pedal pinned all summer long with 8 points events, the Learning Curve, a National Tour event, and the Teen Street Survival course. Great attendance, a strong Novice class, and so many people stepping up to make our events run successfully. Specifically those that designed & set up courses, volunteered to learn speciality work assignments, showed up early or stayed late to help out, coached new drivers - we appreciate you!

Once the official season results are finalized we will post them online and let you know they are ready. Keep your peepers on The Facebook and on your inbox for important information on upcoming meetings, Solo Committee elections, and of course our season banquet early next year. In the meantime, enjoy the break and we hope to see you all next season!
