USA: EV Recent Trends for Consumers, Automakers & Government Subsidies
🚗"Globally, electric vehicles (EVs) have been increasing steadily over the last few years. So far, there are at least 26 million EVs on the road in 2021 and the growth rate sales in 2022 have been on average rate increase like pre-pandemic. However, according to International Energy Agency (IEA), in the first quarter of 2023, the growth rate of sales has been strong (IEA, 2023); it is good news for all EVs stakeholders, this includes current and future EV buyers. So, if you’re still not convinced of buying your EV, I have done the research for you on how main stakeholders saw recent trends in EVs in the last few years, at the current and the future. These trends will be focused on: India, the USA, Canada, the UK, Asia, Africa, Europe, North America, South America, and Australia/Oceania; they will be written separately to focus on each of them. Based on this research, the EV price and charging stations are still seen as important factors in whether to buy an EV or not for most prospective buyers (Lee, 2023)." ~ Earla R. Beltran Riopel
EV Consumers Buying Trends
🚙"Currently, only 4% of Americans and at least 12% are considering buying an EV. Boomers and Gen X are likely not going to buy EVs, but millennials and Gen Z would be the current and future consumers. According to my research, location, and education are important factors that the millennials and Gen Z might purchase an EV. This includes the pros and cons, making them feel confident in their purchase. Another trend would be the difficulty of finding nearby EV charging stations, the charging time, the possibility of a power outage, performance on the fluctuation of temperature, and the cost of maintenance are factors for buyers to be hesitant not to buy EVs (Lee, 2023)." ~ Earla Riopel Nycare
