"Why does my Oil come out black but goes in golden?"
A lot of people only ever see the old oil during an oil change, so they assume oil is always supposed to look black, but fresh oil actually starts out a clear golden or amber color. Over time, that oil moves through your engine and begins picking up heat, dirt, carbon, and all the byproducts that come from normal engine operation.
That darker color does not always mean something is wrong right away. In many cases, it means the oil is doing its job by helping carry away contamination and keep internal engine parts lubricated. When oil is left in too long, it can start to break down and lose the ability to protect your engine the way it should.
