Southern Booth & Equipment is seeking a Field Service Technician who will provide outstanding customer service by assisting with installation, startup & training, service calls, electrical and mechanical maintenance, and repair of all makes and models of finishing equipment for the industrial and auto refinishing industry throughout Florida.

We are looking for a candidate with a background in electrical, HVAC or construction (experience of 2 to 4 years minimum), that likes to travel, pays attention to detail and has a strong work ethic.

WORK SCHEDULE

This is a full-time, hourly position working Monday-Friday with additional evening and weekend hours as needed. Ability to travel around Florida required.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel - travel by vehicle with assigned geography

2. Must be authorized to work in the United States

3. Basic computer knowledge

4. Must have dependable transportation to and from work

5. Must be able to perform all physical functions required for the position such as climbing, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, squatting, stooping, lifting above shoulders is a part of daily activity as well as repetitive tasks involving hand and arm motion and lifting objects over 50 pounds.

6. Ability to use pressure washer of 4,000 PSI or greater

7. Must be able to push/pull/lift/move parts and equipment with assistance.

8. Ability to tolerate a working environment that consists of: Exposure to fumes, chemicals, dust, along with high levels of noise and is subject to weather conditions both inside and outside.

9. Motivated and self-driven person

10. Attention to detail is a must

11. A positive attitude and a willingness to learn and work hard is mandatory

12. Must be good in a customer facing role

13. Must work well in a team environment

14. Must be willing to travel up to 75%. Some weekend work may be required.

15. Must be able to pass criminal background check and pass a drug screen

16. Must possess the ability to operate a smart phone/tablet

17. Intermediate to advanced mechanical abilities required

18. Strong mathematical abilities (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)

19. Organizational and communication skills

20. Desire to learn new skills and improve knowledge

21. Strong orientation toward: Safety, quality, and continuous improvement demonstrated by a work history of safe performance, accuracy and attention to detail in the work performed, constructive problem solving and suggestions for improvement, ability to effectively implement or respond to change, punctuality and consistent work attendance

22. Meet the physical activity required for the position such as climbing, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, squatting, stooping, lifting above shoulders is a part of daily activity as well as repetitive tasks involving hand and arm motion and lifting objects over 50 pounds. 26. Able to speak, read, and write in English

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. High School diploma or equivalent

2. MUST HAVE strong electrical and mechanical skills.

3. Experience in ONE of the following fields is required: electrician, HVAC or construction.

5. Previous experience working in an industrial environment is a plus

6. Trained in forklift operations and man lifts is a plus

We are looking for a candidate that likes to travel, pays attention to detail and has a strong work ethic. Preferably is mechanically inclined and experienced with working with hand and power tools.

WORK SCHEDULE

This is a full-time, hourly position working Monday-Friday with additional evening and weekend hours as needed. Ability to travel around Florida required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Install, test, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment consisting of, but not limited to, electric motors, transformers, lighting, control panels, electrical circuits, heated air makeup units, or other equipment according to specified requirements

2. Work from blueprints, drawings, schematics, or other specifications to install spray booths, air makeup units, and compressed air system

3. Work from blueprints, drawings, schematics, or other specifications to locate, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical systems

4. Operate electrical hand tools, diagnostic tools, and testing equipment

5. Provide telephone troubleshooting and remote technical support when not traveling

6. Perform, develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedules for customer equipment

7. Communicate in a positive manner with internal departments and external customers to resolve problems related to controls, electrical, air replacement systems, and other mechanical problems

8. Build and maintain professional working relationships with current and perspective customers, generating new customer leads

9. Work in confined spaces, climb on and off equipment

10. Remove paint build up from paint booths & tunnel

11. Abide by all Safety regulations and policies. Must wear proper PPE: retrieval harness, steel toe footwear safety glasses, etc.

12. Maintain detailed notes of work orders, customer repairs, job materials, inventory

13. Maintain detailed time sheets, through use of company application, meeting minimum documentation requirements

14. Local and regional pick up and deliveries

15. Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. High School diploma or equivalent

2. Two to 4 years of experience in a technical role; years of experience may be substituted for degree

3. Experience in ONE of the following fields is preferred: electrician, HVAC, plumber, welder, mechanic, automotive technician, construction, or similar mechanical experience

4. Formal training in chosen technical profession is strongly preferred

5. Previous experience working in an industrial environment is a plus

6. Trained in forklift operations and man lifts is a plus
