This page is for the grand prix team of Phi Sigma Rho, a sorority for women in engineering at Purdue University. Purdue's annual Grand Prix, called the the “The Greatest Spectacle in College Racing,” is a go kart race consisting of 33 drivers and teams that participate in the 160-lap or 50 mile race each spring. Organizations that are involved spend many hours building, adjusting, and running thei

r kart. Last year, we made Phi Rho Racing history when our driver earned the "Most Improved Position" award for starting the race in 32nd and finishing 12th! As this is a hugely competitive event, it comes with a large budget. We have a sponsorship packet that goes into more details about our team history, plans for the season, and the various sponsorship levels available upon request. Over the weekend, our friends at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles talked to us about kart maintenance, racing tactics, and gave technical discussion on our kart's parts. Now we're looking forward to our first week of practice!

Thank you to all that came out to support Phi Rho Racing this past Saturday at the 59th Annual Purdue Grand Prix!

It was truly a great experience, going as far as we did. With one of the most spirited fans in the stands, our group was one that cannot be ignored.

The team competed in the sprint races and came in 4th, but achieved the 2nd fastest lap time in our heat. This is all so impressive for our rookie driver. We look forward to developing as a team, further engineering our kart, and supporting our driver as she uses this experience to do even better next year!

We look forward to next year's 60th annual race, with continued support from our sponsors, sorority, and alumni.

We're happy to announce that Phi Rho Racing passed our technical inspection of our kart yesterday! We're more than ready to get on the track and prepare for the annual race. Come watch us this year at the Purdue Grand Prix track on April 23rd!

Congrats to Shelby and the Phi Rho racing team for finishing 12th out of 33. She started 32nd from the sprint races this morning and took 20 spots and the lead female racer in the final Grand Prix race!
