Consider this: the amount of time and people, plus machinery that it took/takes to build one automobile. Every part, every fastener, every wire, every clip, etc., etc. Now add in 20-50 years of highway miles, dirt, grease, oil, rust, sun damage, etc. THEN, one man has to completely disassemble, clean, strip, blast, repair, refinish and then start the reassembly process. Not an assembly line with new, factory parts, but using refurbished original parts and/or aftermarket parts, which most DO NOT fit correctly and need modified to perform or fit properly. Only then, you might start to understand the amount of time and cost it takes to do a restoration on a classic or antique automobile. This isnt taking in consideration the education and knowledge that the individual has accumulated over the years to hone the talent of doing the job well. This is where the hundreds of hours comes in to complete a restoration project.
