Sometimes I have to stop and look at how far this business has come.

Through moves, job changes, life changes, and even new babies — LuckyBlocks kept moving forward.

I don’t take that for granted. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have the kind of customers who support small businesses and actually care about the product and the person behind it.

That’s why I do my best to give the kind of customer service I’d want myself. Every email, DM, and comment gets answered as quickly as I see it.

Here’s a good example of why it’s so important to use guide coat, especially when switching grits. How many times have you missed a scratch, only to find it after paint? Guide coat can help avoid that. Use it liberally!

Long “flat” panels! They can be tougher than you realize because they need to be straight EVERY direction, not just the angle you’re blocking. I like to switch directions throughout the process to be sure I’m not leaving waves 90 degrees from the direction I’m blocking. I will also block in a 45 angle, that also helps, but be sure to feel with your hand in every direction so that you can identify these problem areas and make changes as needed. On this particular roof, 68 Camaro, these are the two blocks that were needed. 1/4” by 24” for the crown on the majority of the roof and 1/8” by 11” to pick up the larger radius in the corners and sides.

How and why I sell round “blocks”. I find it helpful JUST in starting the rough shape when sanding filler. I do not use it in many other situations for the simple fact that it doesn’t flex the way a block needs to. The reason I sell them as a set of four is because you need the correct radius that you are blocking, as you can see here.
