🏁 K&K Track Spotlight 🏁
This ain't no highway!
Worth a second highlight in our series because it’s time for the Wick! Part of conservation land and nestled in the tall pine trees around you, this track is truly something special.
The natural sand here has been here forever, untouched and unforgiving. When you're on this track you know that you have work to do. The gate drops and you launch hard - down the dragstrip to make the battle for the first turn....and here we go!
With a hard packed base, deep sand sweeping turns is all part of the unforgettable feeling of ripping the sands of Southwick. And that's just moto 1! You might make bike adjustments such as bigger tires for moto 2 to combat the massive ruts and a faster rebound on your suspension. Even with these adjustments and lots of passing opportunities, it's still just you against the track.
And ooohhh... let's talk about that Buckley Berm -> come in too hot then the sand will grab you, if you come in too slow then you sink and lose momentum, and if you hesitate, well, then you might get spun out sideways. You've gotta find your mojo with a smooth line to carry you. Because this is the most physically demanding track out there - riders have to dig in and battle it out. It's a fight from the first turn to the checkers.
One thing for sure -> the Wick never stays the same. The ever-changing sand means the track is constantly evolving, getting rougher and tougher as the day wears on. And for fans, there's nothing like it, the energy here is loud, chaotic and right on top of the action as every vantage point provides incredible visuals for fans.
It's wild, it's messy,
it's Southwick baby...and we absolutely love it.
So, pack up your umbrella and head to the beach! It's time for the sands of Southwick!
