Fox Business Highlights U-Haul Response To Coronavirus
When faced with unforeseen life events, the public relies on U-Haul to meet their basic needs with access to our products and services. With 22,000 locations, 75 years in the business and thousands of helping hands across the U.S. and Canada, U-Haul is uniquely positioned to respond when people and communities need it most.
Over the past week, college students have scrambled to manage the disruptions caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and the closures of university classes and campuses. U-Haul has stepped up to help.
After learning of our goodwill gesture to offer 30 days of free self-storage to college students, Maria Bartiromo and the folks at Fox Business’ “Mornings with Maria” invited U-Haul Executive Vice President (EVP) Chuck Hertzler on the show to talk about our efforts.
Hertzler told Bartiromo that U-Haul has always assisted the college student's move and that our Collegeboxes Program serves more than 205 universities. In other words, the Company is prepared to handle the load when school cancelations hit.
“We kicked our programs into gear and prepared for them, and we’re ready to go now,” Hertzler declared. “We’re familiar with this and we’re not backing down. We’re here to help.”
Since U-Haul is a needs-based business, Hertzler said he is confident with the Company’s preparedness to serve customers with our full lineup of products and services.
“When someone comes to U-Haul, they need us and we're there to help them,” he said. “I don't know what the future is going to bring, but whatever it is, we're ready.”
