Hamilton County Speedway

Hamilton County Speedway 1/2 Mile Semi-Banked Dirt Track The Hamilton County Speedway is the oldest speedway in the state of Iowa, opening in July 1910.

In 1938, work began on the current location at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds. The semi-banked half-mile dirt track was completed in the spring of 1939, and the first races were held on the track in September of that year. The track is located off of US 20 at exit 140, then 1.2 miles north, then 0.5 mile east on Bank St., then 0.4 mile south on Bluff St.

The Iron Man Stock Car purse on Sunday is more than many tracks pay to WIN in the Stock Car division, and drivers will be racing for big money all weekend long.

Something different this year on Friday night of the Fair. Central Iowa Truck Pullers Association will bring the Truck Pull to the Hamilton County Fair. This event brought to you by JA Concrete Construction and will offer a $12,000 purse that should bring in some of the great pullers.

This event ties in with Humboldt, IA on Saturday and should bring in several Trucks. We look forward to bringing in something new for the 2026 Hamilton County Fair.
