Throwback Thursday: 1969 Boss 302 Edition 🏁
This one is too cool not to share.
We recently heard from the current owner of this beautiful 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302, who reached out to see if we had any records from when it was originally sold through Spitler Demmer Ford in May of 1969 — before we became Jack Demmer Ford in March of 1975.
The story goes that this Boss may have been built for a retiring Ford executive, with modifications done at the dealership before delivery. Unfortunately, after the dealership location move, we don’t have records dating back quite that far — but the history he shared is incredible.
The original window sticker shows this Boss 302 sold for a whopping $4,071.67. Yes… you read that right.
Today, the car lives in Arizona, which explains the cactus cameo in the photos, but its roots are still tied to Michigan and Ford history. The current owner grew up in Michigan, his dad worked 33 years at Ford, and he even spent a summer in 1978 working at the Dearborn Assembly Plant, spot welding Mustangs together while attending MSU. He also owns a ’66 Fastback that he’s had since 1984.
From Michigan roots to Arizona roads — and still turning heads all these years later. Stories like this are what make the Ford community so special.
Thank you for sharing this incredible piece of Demmer history with us.
Once part of the Demmer story, always part of the Demmer story.
