It is with a heavy heart that we inform you of the passing of one of our owners, Charles “Chucko” Stead. His Celebration of Life will take place this Saturday, February the 13th in the form of a truck parade.
Chucko was most importantly a father of two wonderful children Jocelyn and Jack (pictured), a son, a brother and a close friend to a lot of us. Besides his unwavering devotion to his family, he tirelessly devoted himself and his company's time to his community and professional colleagues.
There is no one in this world that could ever come close to replacing him. It is for that reason we are honoring him this Saturday, February 13th at 11:00 AM with a truck parade through Paoli, Berwyn, Devon, and Wayne.
The route (pictured) will pass by our shop, Chucko's parents' house, the Berwyn Fire Company (where he and his family were very involved), his home, and the Berwyn Tavern (which is owned by one of his closest friends).
A truck parade is a long-honored tradition within our profession. With all the restrictions placed upon us this past year, we feel there is not better way to celebrate such an important person and show the strength of our community, profession, agencies and organizations we work with to support and serve the community.
We invite you all to join us to participate or spectate. Whether it is a tow truck, pickup truck, car, SUV, fire truck, police vehicle or anything else. We are going to meet at 10:00 AM in the old Golf Galaxy parking lot at 400 Swedesford Rd, Berwyn PA 19312. (Anyone who does bringing a larger truck, you may want to stay on route 30 and wait for the procession to come back out of The Village back roads. Just be sure not to block Bridge Ave, Knox Ave or Waterloo Ave.)
Though Jocelyn and Jack have a ton of loving family and close family friends, we, in the business community that Chucko touched so dearly, felt that it would also be a great gesture to help support his childrens' future with the trust fund that family friends have already set up.
Donations can be made by visiting Max in the Conestoga Collision truck at the beginning or end of the route or by mailing them to 48 E. Conestoga Rd., Devon, PA 19333. Any checks should be made out to “The Chuck Stead Children’s Trust”.
Thank you and please feel free to reach out to Conestoga Collision, the organizers at 610-644-1000 with any questions.
