Tips for you Honda Crv owners or most any cars with distributors.
Had one that had Perfect idle, able to rev high at park, dies as soon as you throttle in drive. High throttle eliminates any fuel concerns so I checked Ignition components starting with the distributors cap and rotor.
I noticed the contact points were caked with gunk. Sanded down the 4 arch point and the rotor's surface. Runs like new again!
In drive, the spark needs to be stronger for the heavier load. Here, the load was overpowering the spark, killing the engine.
