One of the easiest fixes I have had in a while. I needed that. Lol. Jeep Compass, trans was stuck in limp mode. Code P097F I believe. Another "mechanic" looked at it and didnt have a clue. Took 5 minutes max to find. Repaired the corroded wire and sent them on their way.

Long story short I had to put a new drivers side axle in this charger. I went to test drive it and it did not move. The shaft did snap into place. The new shaft was almost an 1/8th of an inch smaller at the splines. There is over 200k on this vehicle and I found that the spider gear has a little slop so it was sitting lower in the diff. Thats why it originally did fit and I didnt notice something was off until it was together.

Pretty happy that I got it all back together already. 4 bent pushrods and a couple of stuck valves. Pulled the rocker arm assemblies apart, cleaned and lubed everything. Tore the carb down, cleaned and resealed it. I have some tweaking to do yet but running pretty decent and no more nasty noises! Lol

Todays project. 1950 3100. I drained the fuel a couple weeks ago and put new cap and rotor on and she runs again. But sounds horrible. She is going under the knife today. This truck is very sentimental to its owner as it was their grandpa's truck and also the first delivery truck for their business!

You can see the space right above the oring, that is where the oring is supposed to go. The way it was kept the cap about an 1/8 of an inch up from being seated.
