Brogan was diagnosed with T-cell ALL when he was five years old. He spent time at the Ronald McDonald House while going through treatments. Brogan and his family are excited to be involved in the Governor’s Charity Steer Show to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House. Brogan’s steer, J***y, is home-raised on his family’s heritage farm in northeast Iowa. Brogan named his steer after his favorite -- John Deere tractors. Brogan is the sixth generation on the family farm dating back to 1874. Brogan is in his first year showing cattle. He’ll be in fifth grade St. Patrick School in Waukon this fall. Brogan is the son of Tom and Alana Gavin.
