Day 2 of the car show highlights brings us this cool thing. Yea, back when it was new in 1987 it was about as cool as a minivan, but it’s funny sometimes how time makes even mundane things gain major cool factor. This 35,000 original mile 1987 Buick Electra Estate wagon started life as an Buick factory executive ordered and driven car for the first few 1000 miles. It was then allocated to the inventory of the now defunct Frascona Buick in Wauwatosa. Sold to an elderly couple who rarely drove it and preserved it amazingly well. Ownership was transferred to the couples neighbor a few years ago for payment of some work that was done to their house. Owner #2 kept it for a short time and then sold it to the owner I purchased it from. That owner did a ton of maintenance and cosmetic freshening that needed from age (let’s face it, 80s quality wasn’t the best!!). Headliner was replaced, front seat foam replaced, paint surfaces refreshed (wood laminate is all original!). A bunch of mechanical maintenance, A/C rebuilt and converted 134a, new tires (correct whitewalls coming!) and lots of other stuff to make it reliable. In my ownership I finished the bumper filler replacements, and did some additional clean up and maintenance that needed to be done to “finish it off”. This car is well sorted and will be heading in the direction of Bring a Trailer because I feel that is the best place for it to get its best value. If anyone is interested before it goes live, please reach out, but know it will be upper teens to purchase. Reach out if you want to know more. This thing is just killer cool!!
