What is engine tuning?
Engine tuning, also known as performance tuning or engine remapping, involves modifying an engine's parameters to enhance its performance. This can improve power output, acceleration, and overall performance. Most cars will see a horsepower gain of 10-20% from an ECU tune.
What Types of tunes is there?
Most Common
• A base tune (most common and practical),, is the initial stage of engine tuning and is typically the most affordable. It involves making adjustments to the engine control unit (ECU), which is the vehicle's computer that manages various engine functions. A base tune ensures that the car is accepting the changes, and that everything is good before things start
getting turned up. Perfect for stock applications where you want the most efficiency out of your vehicle. Due to most car manufacturers under time their cars for emissions. Which hinders gas mileage and performance. Typically, 1-5 mpg is gained on most applications under normal driving conditions.
• An E85 tune, is a map that allows a vehicle to run on E85, a mixture of ethanol and gasoline, by adjusting the engine's fuel and timing. The ethanol content in E85 can range from 51% to 83%, and the tune is made for a specific ethanol content so that the engine can only use E85 fuel with that content. Using E85 in a vehicle that is not tuned for E85 can damage the engine.
• Advanced engine tuning, this is what most people or companies consider stage 2,3,4,5 tuning. This is for heavily modified and or power adder configurations.and the most expensive. (Off-Road Use Only)
