MGB Top Installation- We are replacing the top on a 1978 MGB with just 17,000 miles on it. It has been very interesting working on such an original car.
Here are a couple of pictures of how the factory installed the original top’s front bumpers, screws and the orientation of the folds. This will give reliable perspective to any of you who are replacing the top on your own MGB.
It’s a bit of a rare view as most of our cars have had the tops replaced three or four times since they were new and you can be pretty sure they weren’t done exactly right every time.

Here is a 1962 Turner MK II ready to go. We had this one in for fitting a windshield and factory hardtop. Previously it simply had Brooklands windscreens.
We think the factory hardtop looks smashing.
