350 bushels in the hopper, auger side into terrain not possible to get grain cart under. A few tries with the John Deere 9r offered no movement and a broken tow rope. Bring on the skid steer and winch box! Not only do we build these units, we use them for our customers and our business well. Unit was removed, with no damage in about 20 mins once on scene.

Yes, we build winch boxes. In 2014, we pinpointed the need for one and built the first unit. We rely on our equipment in our towing and recovery business. This allows us to be able to know what we sell, and understand its capacities and uses in the field.

Different job we did last fall. John Deere with loaded hopper got close to the edge at night and slid into drainage ditch. Field conditions were soft/ wet then 4 inches of snow on top one half mile from the nearest road. Using Performance excavator and skid steer winch boxes to upright and slide unit up and out of drainage ditch simultaneously.

Three part rigged to basketed front wheel, two parts to provide spike and the third part low to assist in sliding up steep incline. After unit started to upright/ slide, skid steer winch box was used to pull low/ forward to slide unit sideways.

Heavy towing and recovery can be challenging with very unique circumstances at times. We know this because that’s the business we are in as well. Performance Winch Skids are a great option when you cannot get the big iron in a position you would like. This tractor trailer was uprighted and winched to a spot in the field around 150 yards before a tow truck could get close enough to remove it.

Performance Winch Skids customers have some of the most demanding jobs in the recovery industry- which is why our units HAVE to deliver.

This job was done by Eric Roscoe and the team at Dr. Hook Towing out of Winnipeg MB.

Three units had met there demise, two 40,000 lb dozers and an equal size reel unit. The terrain was peat bog, and was extremely soft. These units are very stuck, and not a recovery for inexperienced operators.

Using add’l units as a “dead man” all units were successfully recovered. The tracked reel machine was no longer running. Resistance values are significant doing recoveries such as this, and these recovery specialists used resistance calculations, load cells, and proper equipment to get the maximum from their Performance Winch Skid.
