This Chevy Silverado came to us needing a complete inner and outer bedside replacement, and we’re happy with how it turned out.

Repairs like this require much more than simply installing a new panel. The damaged bedside has to be carefully removed from the bed structure, the new panels precisely fitted, and everything welded back together to restore the strength and appearance of the truck. Once that’s complete, it’s sealed, refinished, and painted to look like it never happened.

Our goal is always the same—repair it the right way, not just the easy way.

The majority of rust on newer vehicles (2000's) is something very few body shops want to deal with. It's dirty, a lot of work, there are always surprises, and the patch panels are hit and miss as far as fitment and quality. So I get why most shops wash their hands of doing it.

But somebody has to, right?

We started out by restoring classic cars which innately have a lot of rust on them usually so it is nothing new to us and we take pride in doing it the right way. We will never pack rust holes with filler or do anything we wouldn't do to our own vehicles. If requested, we will take pictures of the entire process not only so you can see what we did but if you resell the vehicle you can show it was done right. A lot of buyers are afraid of perfectly clean rockers and cab corners because they just assume it was "scuff and stuffed" recently.

"Will my insurance rates go up if I file a claim?" is a common question we get and would like to clear up for our customers. There has been a lot of people who have not filed a claim and drive around damaged vehicles because they are afraid of what insurance would charge them. I hope this helps clarify those fears.

So... will your insurance go up if you file? The short answer is that usually the deciding factor depends on what type of claim it is. If it is a comprehensive claim (animal damage, storm, fire usually) or a broken windshield-only claim a premium does not usually increase. An at-fault collision claim could raise your rates but is not definite.

- That being said, do not be afraid to ask your insurance if your rate will increase if you file. The majority of insurance's will be able to tell you if it will increase or not within 30 seconds. I had to file a hail damage claim that totaled out my daily driver and it did not increase my rates. Always check before filing but generally speaking, comprehensive claims do not count against you.

- a collision claim can count against you and raise your rates. It doesn't guarantee they will go up though, so ask your insurance if you are on the fence about filing or not because they take into account a lot of factors such as driving record and previous accidents. I have noticed also that making a claim to get your vehicle repaired when the accident was not your fault has a lower probability of raising your rates because your insurance will normally pursue the other parties insurance for payout.

Remember, filing a claim doesn't obligate you to repair your vehicle at any particular shop. You have the right to choose where your vehicle is repaired. Some shops work for insurance companies and some shops, like us, work for the customer.

Sorry we’ve been slacking on the regular damage update posts… and honestly, that’s a good problem to have! We’ve been keeping busy in the shop. 👨‍🔧

Here’s one we just wrapped up—a Ford Bronco that had an unfortunate run-in with a deer. 🦌

This repair included:
✅ New front fender
✅ Complete front bumper assembly
✅ New grille
✅ New radiator
✅ New A/C condenser
✅ various other brackets & pieces

After some quality bodywork, paint, and reassembly, it’s back on the road looking like nothing ever happened.

The local Waterloo Library reached out to us and asked if we’d sponsor their summer reading program with a grand prize, and we were more than happy to help out. We love supporting programs that get kids involved, learning, and excited.

We took a 2015 F-250 and upgraded it with a 2017 aluminum bed swap — and this wasn’t just a simple bolt-on job.

✅ Retrofitted the new style rear bumper to the frame
✅ Installed and wired updated tail lights
✅ Fabricated custom mounts for the bed bolts
✅ Converted from steel to lightweight aluminum

Due to the difference in model years and body styles, the lines don’t match up perfectly, and the aluminum bed sits slightly higher than the original. However, if your goal is to extend the life of your truck and eliminate future rust concerns, this is a solid upgrade to consider.
