My new favorite rider
Beckham Smith. I was in staging area Saturday at Loretta’s. Always looking to see how riders an parents are handling the 3rd moto pressure. Beckham stood out to me , Fox head to toe, no cell phone in his hand . Just standing there with his mom . He had number one gate pick from winning moto 2 . You could tell they were a little nervous. But they really caught my eye. As the race started I could hear the announcer talking about Beckham, he got my attention, so I walk down to the first turn. An than they said he’s in 4th , that’s all he needs to get the overall. He had this in the bag . As he crossed the Finnish you could tell he was so excited, holding the throttle wide open . I said to my self I got to get to the podium. As he was getting interviewed, could not believe how professional he sound , very well spoken. Smiling an looking at his mom. Mom came up on the podium to help him open his sparkling water, as the cork popped, he sprayed mom down , they where laughing a crying at the same time. Having never talk to them , I went up to mom , Said. Not only should you be proud your son won, But he was the best spoken rider I’d heard .
After the long drive home , Told my chick (Tammy) what had happened. I was crying at Loretta’s for my new favorite ride. She said let look him up , find out more. Boy did we find out . Tammy says I saw his mom at Archviewmxpark Regional. I said no way !
