Spotlight on the Intern:
Landon Reed; Automotive Tech Intern, Coast Auto Repair

Exploring career possibilities through hands-on experience is what Summer 2026 internships are all about—and today we're excited to spotlight Landon Reed!
A student at Astoria High School who will be a senior this fall, Landon is spending his summer as an Automotive Tech Intern with Coast Auto Repair in Warrenton. His internship is giving him the opportunity to explore one of several career paths he's considering while building valuable technical and workplace skills.

"I would like to be a forestry engineer, but I am also interested in automotive or construction, and now that we had the career session in maritime, I also want to explore engineering work in maritime."

Throughout the summer, Landon is gaining firsthand experience in a professional automotive repair shop, learning from skilled technicians, and developing practical skills that will benefit him no matter which career path he ultimately chooses. By working alongside experienced professionals, he's discovering what it takes to succeed in the automotive industry while exploring whether it's the right fit for his future.

Internships like this give students the chance to "try on" a career before making important education and career decisions, helping them connect classroom learning with real-world experience.

Hard work, curiosity, and real-world experience are a winning combination—and today we're excited to highlight another outstanding Summer 2026 intern, Adrian Diaz Dolores!

A recent graduate of Astoria High School, Adrian is spending his summer as an Automotive Tech Intern with Coast Auto Repair of Warrenton, where he's gaining valuable hands-on experience while exploring the career he's passionate about pursuing.
“I wish to pursue an internship in automotive, it is the passion that will lead me into my future. I'm taking full advantage of my internship, the best part is the insight on the daily life of a technician and seeing firsthand what it means to be in this career.”

Throughout his internship, Adrian is developing practical automotive repair skills while learning what it takes to succeed in a professional shop environment. Each day brings new opportunities to build confidence, expand his knowledge, and prepare for the next step in his career.

This fall, Adrian will attend Portland Community College's automotive program to continue his education and work toward a career as an automotive technician. His internship is providing a strong foundation that will help him transition from the classroom to the workforce.

We are thrilled to welcome our two incredible interns to the team this summer! ☀️
Through the Clatsop WORKS program, they aren't just stepping into a temporary summer role, they are stepping into an environment built for growth. Over the next 10 weeks, they will be diving into hands-on work designed to sharpens their technical skills, expand their mindsets, and build real-world confidence.

Did some upgrades to the old 8.1 and finally got everything wrapped up.

Big thanks to Hank Slocum for the 8.8 top end kit and the 90mm throttle body.

Upgrades include:
• Raylar BP203 camshaft
• 1.8 ratio LS7 rockers
• 42 lb injectors
• 450 LPH fuel pump
• Stainless Works long tube headers
• MagnaFlow exhaust
• Volant cold air intake

Lifted the cab off to do the work, which made installing the headers and getting to everything a lot easier.

Had it dyno tuned at Wong’s Performance in Vancouver, Washington, and the difference is night and day. The truck was already tuned with a Raylar BP202 camshaft before, but with the BP203 and the rest of the upgrades it’s a completely different truck now. Put down 387 hp and 484 tq.
