By now many of you have probably heard rumors that we are closing. Unfortunately those rumors are true, and we officially closed to new business at the end of February.
This brings an end to almost 30 years of business here in the area. This story actually starts with a man named Jin Hyun who, in the early 90's, came to America from South Korea with nothing to his name and opened a Maaco franchise in Niles through sheer force of will and extreme effort. Shortly afterwards, my dad Dan came on board as manager and in 1999 bought in as a partner. By the early 2000's it ended up being ours completely, and for the past ten years I've been the general manager and de facto owner after my dad retired. It has been a hell of a ride.
We appreciate your business and friendship through the years, especially during some very difficult economic times. After the September 11 attacks, the war on terror, the 2008 financial crises and now Covid 19, the doors remained open and you kept bringing us your cars. Some of you brought us so many that you probably could have owned shares in the company - you know who you are. We valued that support extremely, and always will.
Thank you again for the memories. We wish all of you good health and fortune. Maybe you'll see us at some of the shows!
