Thank you to our Service Director, John Richards, for actively maintaining our longstanding commitment to local student automotive programs. Through innovative initiatives like Jackson County’s Empower C3 Automotive Program, and Forsyth County’s Automotive Technology program at FCHS, students are introduced to fields where A.I. won’t be taking jobs from skilled technicians, and there will always be career opportunities available.

Happy Birthday Sonya! 🥳 Thank you for sharing your contagious smile with us each day.

Vehicle assembly plant innovation has evolved in lockstep with equipment options, and we all have different "must haves" in choosing the perfect vehicle. We couldn't determine which manufacturer first offered a standard cassette player, but the last brand to offer it was Lexus in 2010. And strange but true, the only 2026 model that still offers an optional factory CD player is the Subaru WRX. 🧐

Regardless of whether it's the kids or the parents who are most excited about going back to school, we hope everyone enjoyed the summer break. To beat the heat and enjoy some quality family time in 1958, Sam & Kay Troncalli took their four young children on a trip down the Tennessee River. There was a method to the madness in boating from a mom's point of view, "...it's the only time they're good - they have such a good time they forget to fight," said Kay. 😄🎯☮

In 1983 you had to work really hard to bring attention to a "One Heck of a Hunk of a Truck Sale". At that time, we had to rent a truck to hoist a vehicle in the air to make sure people didn't miss the sale, or the "hunk of a truck" from which our attention-seeking dangled. These days we have a huge inventory of commercial trucks that could hoist a car in the air, but fortunately, we have the internet to do the heavy lifting of our messaging.

Tomorrow is the 106th anniversary of the birth of our "founding father", Sam Troncalli, and his pre-automotive history is the more interesting part of his success. He was the youngest of eight children to parents who immigrated from Palermo, Sicily through the Port of New Orleans in the early 1890's. They later married and settled in Birmingham where they started a family and established a produce business. Sam had to drop out of high school in the 10th grade to assist his father (who couldn't drive), but later completed his GED, and never quit pursuing knowledge through literature and experience. He was a 2nd Lt. in the Air Force 91st Brigade during WWII, and a prisoner of war in Stalag Luft III, and later moved to a camp in Nuremberg-Langwasser, from which he was liberated in April 1945. Immediately after returning from war, he began working at Beaudry Ford in Atlanta and married his beloved, Kay. Sam lost a battle to cancer in 2011 at the age of 90, and we celebrate him tomorrow and everyday as an example of a life hard-fought, and well-lived. Happy Birthday Pa-Pa!

This Thursday's Throwback is for Atlantans old enough to remember when Church Street in Decatur was still Lawrenceville Hwy., and Emory Decatur Hospital was still Dekalb General. This landscape has changed significantly over the years, and although we no longer have dealerships in Decatur, we are currently looking forward to the red clay and "coming soon" sign on Hwy. 129 becoming the new Jefferson Ford dealership.

The amazing thing about this photo is that even after 40 years with us, Mark Tyler still has a full head of hair (although no longer "fashioned" in a mullet). 😄 He has been part of our management team for many decades but his favorite title of all time was earned in 2025 by way of an adorable little man named Cooper - GRANDPA.
