Yesterday, our crew responded to a 42-foot Sea Ray that struck an unknown object near ICW markers 57–58, sustaining significant damage and beginning to take on water.

There have also been reports of vessels striking something near ICW marker 60. The object’s exact location has not been confirmed. Please use caution when transiting this stretch of the ICW, particularly between markers 58 and 60.

Another derelict removed from local waters. This week, TowBoatUS Barnegat Light removed this sailboat that had been anchored off the Ship Bottom area for over a year. Our crew towed it to Duck Cove Marina, where it was successfully hauled out of the water.

Today, TowBoatUS Barnegat Light recovered this 21 ft Chris Craft after it took on water at the dock.

At 8:28 this morning, TowBoatUS Barnegat Light responded to a 40-foot Pacemaker stranded on the North Jetty at Barnegat Inlet.

After securing a hawser, we successfully pulled the vessel off the rocks and into the inlet. With the assistance of two additional TowBoatUS assets, the vessel was grounded in a safe location so a passenger and their dog could be removed and dewatering could begin.

Once the vessel was stabilized, pumps were secured aboard to keep up with the continuing water intrusion. The vessel was then successfully towed to Holiday Harbor Marina for an emergency haulout.

Many thanks to the other agencies that assisted with controlling vessel traffic throughout the operation. Great teamwork by everyone involved.
