As Memorial Day weekend approaches, the Wantagh FD is getting ready for the Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach. This year’s event takes place on Saturday and Sunday May 25th and 26th between 10 am and 3 pm, with a practice run on Friday May 24th, and will feature the US Navy Blue Angels for the 10th time. Parking will be $10.00 per car each day or free for 2024 Empire Pass cardholders.
In what has become for many a great tradition to kick-off the summer, this year marks the 20th Anniversary of the Bethpage Air Show. Last year more than 419,000 people attended over the three days. 2024 also marks the 95th Anniversary of Jones Beach State Park, the 100th Anniversary of the NYS and Long Island State Park Commission and the 125th Anniversary of the Wantagh Fire Department.
In addition to the US Navy Blue Angels, military performers include a US Navy F-35 Demo, US Air Force A-10 Thunderbolts and the Us Army Golden Knights Paratroopers. Among the civilian performers are the American Airpower Museum Warbirds, Farmingdale State College Aviation “Flying Rams, Skytypers, Warbird Thunder Pilots, and renowned aerobatic pilots, David Windmiller and Michael Goulian.
As we have since the first Air Show, the Wantagh Fire Department will once again be coordinating and partnering with many other agencies to provide for Fire/Rescue and EMS services for the entire weekend. An event of this size requires a great deal of planning and logistical support. Leaders have been meeting with other agencies for the past several months and exchanging information and conducting planning sessions to ensure a smooth and efficient response to any emergency that may occur.
We are very grateful for the many agencies that enthusiastically return every year to help us provide for the safety of the thousands of attendees and we look forward to collaborating with them once again.

It's funny I stopped at my old job to get gas felt I had to go inside see how it has changed looking around aside from a few new thing the lighting (rope lights) I put up in the candy rack is still there the candy selection is little less but most of the stuff I had brought in to sell before vito was there biggest change is they sell beer now and covered few thing up and that's it and the shops closed
