Is that a scratch in the clear coat or is it deeper? Here’s a quick test to check…

Run your fingernail across the scratch and if it catches, it is likely through the paint.

Lots of options for either scenario.

If your nail glides across and it is just a superficial mark, we can likely buff away the mark.

If your nail catches and it is through the clear coat, it will need to repaired via paint. That can mean a full base coat/clear coat refinish or as small as a touch up kit.

Here at S & S Automotive we provide free estimates by appointment to give you an overall cost of repairs. We are also able to make a 1.5 ounce touch up kit in house, at a reasonable price.

The insurance company might tell you to go to one of their preferred shops but here is what most people don't know.

-- You are not required to use their specific shops. By law, you can
choose any repair facility you trust.
-- Preferred shops have agreements with insurance companies,
which can sometimes mean faster approvals but a lot of the time
they are under pressure to keep costs low, not necessarily
putting what is best for your vehicle a priority.
-- When you choose your own repair facility, you're choosing a
team focused on your safety, the right parts and proper
repairs.

Don't let the insurance company steer you.
