After everything that has happened to our family the last month, it was nice to be back at the track, enjoying our family time and doing a little racing.

Friday was not ideal for us. JP timed in p5 out of 6 in his qualifying group which lined him up starting p5 in his heat which is where he finished. We’re still struggling to find the needed speed when the track is hammer down. For the feature, he started p14 and after dodging some gnarly wrecks and surviving some self induced setbacks, he managed a p10 finishing spot.

Saturday was a new day. With the events format, he would only run a set of hot laps and a 30 lap feature. He started p10 on what ended up being the slickest track he’s ever raced on. With very little experience on a dry slick track, JP showed extreme patience while rolling the bottom and keeping the car pointed in the right direction with his throttle control. We ended up with a solid 5th place finish against some very tough competition.
