Have you ever needed more than than a short bed, and the long bed still wasn't enough? While never offered from the factory some company saw the hole that existed in the market for a 12' option, I'm guessing the need wasn't as big as they hoped being that these are not commonplace now but man could you haul some things with this.

When Eight Feet Was Not Enough, Back in the 70s some Chevy trucks were turned into what people started calling a Chevy Longfoot pickup basically a truck with a bed way longer than normal sometimes stretching out to twelve feet of cargo space behind the cab.

These were not your everyday 8 foot beds. The Longfoot was built so you could haul seriously big stuff without even thinking twice. Full sheets of plywood, ladders, dirt bikes, tool boxes, fishing gear and still have room left over.

Guys back then figured if 8 feet was good then more had to be better. So they stretched frames, extended wiring and brake lines and basically created the granddaddy of truck beds. It looked like a regular square body at first glance then you noticed that bed just kept going.

You do not see many of them anymore but when you do it takes you back. Back when trucks were simple, tough and built to work. Just long steel and a small block up front ready to haul whatever life threw in the back.
