🛞 Is Your Tire Tread Safe For Minnesota Roads? 🤔

❄️ Minnesota law requires vehicles to have at least 2/32" of tire tread, but winter conditions often require more traction. Many safety professionals recommend 4/32" or more of tread for better control in snow, slush, and icy conditions. Deeper tread improves braking and overall safety!

Checking your tire tread with the penny test is easy! 🪙

How to do the penny test:

🛞 Insert a penny into your tire's tread groove with Lincoln's head upside down and facing you. 🙃

🛞 If you can see the top of Lincoln's head, your tread is likely worn below the legal limit, and it is time to replace your tire(s).

🛞 If part of his head is covered, your tread meets the minimum requirement. However, the above stated safety guidance (regarding winter driving) should be taken into consideration. 👈

🛞 Asses all of your vehicle's tires, including your spare!

DIY Car Tip : How to Check Your Oil at Home

Checking your oil regularly is quick and easy, and it can save you from costly repairs! 💲

Here is how YOU can help to keep your engine running smoothly:

1️⃣ Park on a level surface and turn off the vehicle. Let it cool for 10-15 minutes. ⏱️

2️⃣ Pop the hood and find the dipstick (usually topped with a brightly colored, yellow handle). 🟨

3️⃣ Pull the dipstick out, wipe it clean, then fully reinsert it into the dipstick tube. This step helps to ensure a more accurate reading.

4️⃣ Pull it out again and check the level. Ideally, your oil level should be between the two marks at the end of the dipstick (L and F or MIN and MAX). If you are low, top off with the correct oil viscosity, as listed in your owner's manual.

5️⃣ Check the color, too! Clean oil is golden brown; dark or gritty oil means it is time for a change.
