I grew up in Euless, Texas, planning to wrestle in college. After September 11, I felt drawn to military service. A serious altercation and the possibility of prison forced me to face where my life was heading. I chose to serve, take responsibility, and build a life with discipline and purpose.
My love of building started with the Trans Am in *Smokey and the Bandit*. At 15, I bought a 1974 Dodge Challenger and wanted to learn every part of the build.
Years later, during treatment for a traumatic brain injury, I recognized how welding keeps me grounded. It requires focus, control, and the awareness to bring my attention back when it slips.
I hold hidden details to the same standard as the parts everyone sees. When someone trusts me with their idea, I want the finished piece to exceed what they imagined.
I’m still learning. Your past doesn’t have to decide your future. Take responsibility, keep growing, and use what you learn to help others.
