When you are rebuilding your credit and are in need of a vehicle, you should look for a co-signer or put 10-20% down and be looking for a car that isn't more than 10k-15k and is not a luxury car.
Then round your payment up to the nearest 100 dollars and then split the payment in half, you will pay less in interest and you will make at least one additional payment a year without even realizing it, plus the amount you rounded up on your payment goes toward paying the vehicle off sooner.

Example your payment is 436, round up to 500 and pay 250 every two weeks. You will make one 500 payment extra per year and an additional payment and a half in the rounded up amount. Thats paid off a whole year early.

A step further, you get with a credit union and after 2 years of good payment history you ask for a refinance where you continue to pay 250 every two weeks where more of your money goes to principal and you pay it off even faster and now you have a 700 credit score.
