A full westbound closure of the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel will begin tonight at 9 p.m. for repaving. It will last the entire weekend and reopen on at 5 a.m. on Monday.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will begin geotechnical drilling along the Bayfront area, from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel to Fort Story, starting Sept. 8 in support of the Coastal Storm Risk Management Study. Work is expected to last about six weeks, weather permitting. Operations will run weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Resident and visitors can expect to see equipment on the sand and partial shoreline closures. Please avoid any coned or flagged areas. Learn more: https://bit.ly/4xyNCKR
